Our Advisory Board
Introduction
As the name implies, our advisory board is made up of a group of experts who offer advice and guidance from their wealth of knowledge, experience, and skills to support the business so we can grow and achieve our goals. They are volunteers and they play a crucial role in helping us make informed decisions, navigate challenges, and achieve our business goals.
Primary Function
- Act as a sounding board to shareholders, the MD/CEO and by extension, the Management of IEJ Limited
- Provide expert advice on specific areas (e.g., finance, marketing, human resources).
- Provide strategic advice that may not be readily available through other means in goal setting and creating strategies.
- Identify and analyze risks and opportunities.
- Assess organizational performance and make recommendations for improvement.
- Act as an impartial third party, offering perspectives and analysis to strengthen IEJ Limited’s competitive advantage.
- Offer insights, critical thinking, and analysis to increase confidence in decision making.
- Stimulate robust, high-quality conversations to solve business problems or explore new opportunities.
- Provide the goodwill of their name and act as a good advocate for the business amongst their networks.
- Provide financial support and/or information available to them on funding
Structure of Our Advisory Board
Roles and Responsibilities
The Chair: The independent chair facilitates meetings, ensures effective communication, and maintains focus.
The External Advisors: These are experts in specific business areas, providing advice on industry trends, business performance, governance, legal and corporate matters.
The Internal Business Representatives (IBR): The role of the Internal Business Representative is to ensure accurate reporting of the state of the business and ensure follow-through in the implementation of agreed strategies and suggestions from the Board. In our case, the MD/CEO, Abimbola Soluade currently acts as the IBR. As the business expands, an Executive Director may be brought in as a second IBR, to assist.

Tope Popoola is a highly accomplished Leadership Coach and Global Keynote Speaker who has trained and mentored leaders from over 50 nations across the world’s six inhabited continents. He is known for simplifying leadership concepts and principles, making them easily understandable and applicable for everyone.
Tope is an alumnus of the Harvard University Building State Capability (PDIA) program and serves on the International Faculty of Haggai International, a global leadership training institute in the USA and Asia. He is an Honorary Citizen of the State of Nebraska in the USA.

Ayodeji Michael Soluade

Ayodeji Michael Soluade is a highly experienced and versatile operations and logistics professional with over two decades of expertise in engineering services and supply chain management. He has a strong background in managing complex supply base operations, implementing business process improvements, and leading cross-functional teams to achieve significant business growth and cost reductions. Michael holds an MBA in International Operations Management and Logistics from Barcelona Executive Business School, a Life Coaching Certification from Olusola Lanre Coaching Academy, a Diploma in Marine Surveying from Northwest Kent College & Lloyd’s Maritime Academy.

ABIMBOLA SOLUADE

Abimbola is the founding Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of IEJ Limited. She began her journey in the business world 35 years ago, while in secondary school in Ibadan. She identified needs during inter-house sports and found a way to meet them by creating the solution and offering them in exchange for money. She continued this throughout her university days, solving problems for individuals and corporates until she graduated from the prestigious University of Ibadan.
